Things to do in Shepherdstown

Situated along the Potomac River in the beautiful lower Shenandoah Valley, Shepherdstown is the oldest town in West Virginia.  This unique historic town is the home of Shepherdstown University and boasts of rich tradition in the arts, food and entertainment.

The 2017 WVAHPERD Conference is being held at the Clarion Hotel, only a 1/2 mile from all the historic treasures of Shepherdstown.  This quaint town features many unique dining options like Bistro 112 which boasts seasonal menus and passionately supports local farmers.  Their menu offers French favorites, salads, soups and sandwiches, to name a few.  Maybe your sweet-tooth is calling out for a delicacy from Shepherdstown Sweet Shop.  This bakery features a full line of delicate cupcakes, breads, and sandwiches.

For the active guests, Shepherdstown has many unique outdoor activity areas including running, fishing, biking, hiking and more. The Clarion Hotel offers a full exercise facility complete with basketball courts, free weights and nautilus equipment.

If you want to take in some of the rich tradition and heritage, famous Harper’s Ferry is a short drive away along with several civil war sites.
